Every Tuesday the year six ( senior ) Chaplains ran a Stations of The Cross Club for the juniors over Lent. This was an opportunity to really get to know the journey during the last few hours of Jesus’ life with us and reflect on Jesus’ sacrifice. Within the club, the children would act out each station and say prayers for everyone who can relate to the particular scene. This club took place over 4 – 5 weeks and everyone who came said that they enjoyed it very much and would come again.
On Thursday 16th November, one member from both the Steering Group and the School Council as well as all of the Chaplains went to the Emmanuel Church Centre for a shared lunch with all the different faiths across Bolton.
After arriving they were warmly welcomed into the Church, then were introduced to a few schools of various faiths. A few minutes later they went round all the different tables that represented the different faiths such as Baha’ism, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism and Sikhism. They learnt all about the Gods, diets and Prayer Places. they were also offered some food from one of the tables.
A few hours later the Mayer came and gave a speech. Then they had lunch ; pasties, curry, rice, apples, bananas, oranges, grapes and juice. Next, they had a mini concert and St Brendan’s sung he is the shepherd.
It was a lovely experience and I would love to go again next year if I could .
Thank you Bolton.
